ALBANY, N.Y. -- Senior Ethan Clary posted a time of 25:12 over the 8k Campus Course to win the individual title and lead the Great Danes to the team championship in the R.K. Munsey Championship Race at the 46th Annual UAlbany Cross Country Invitational held on Saturday morning.
Clary was followed by Aliaksandr Leuchanka in second place with a time of 25:31, while Chris Buchanan and James Sommer finished fourth and fifth with times of 25:52 and 26:11, respectively. The Great Danes also picked up an additional top ten finisher in John DeLallo, who placed ninth individually in 26:30.
UAlbany had four more runners place in the top 25, led by Raymond Farinella (15th, 26:43) and Ryan Florkiewicz (16th, 26:50). Jonathan Moore was 19th overall in a time of 27:04, while Ryan Scarpelli covered the 8k course in 27:20 to finish 25th.
UAlbany took the team title with 21 total points. Siena placed second in the team standings with 43 points, after being led by Ryan Egan, who was the only non-UAlbany runner in the top five finishers. Saint Rose was third with 73 points, followed by Bryant, who wrapped up the four-team race with 89 points.
The Great Danes will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 16th at the Pre-Nationals Meet in Louisville, Ky.
