ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The University at Albany Spirit Program is a highly visible and enthusiastic athletic group on campus. The primary purpose is to support intercollegiate athletics and serve as ambassadors by appearing at University functions and community events throughout the year. The spirit program consists of the Cheerleading Team, Dance Team and Mascot. 

The mission of the program is to support the University at Albany athletic teams by engaging with Great Dane fans to promote school spirit and generate enthusiasm at various sporting events and appearances. The Cheerleading Team and Dance Team also represent the University at Albany at the UCA and UDA College National Championships. By demonstrating traits of pride, leadership and excellence, the UAlbany Spirit Program members serve as ambassadors of the university. The program is committed to displaying a positive and professional image that reflects the University at Albany's core values and traditions.
