Piseno Named Inside Lacrosse All-America Honorable Mention

BALTIMORE – University at Albany senior Jake Piseno adds to his list of postseason accolades with an All-America Honorable Mention selection from Inside Lacrosse.  Piseno was one of three America East players to earn All-America selections this season.

Piseno, a long-stick midfielder from Liverpool, N.Y., ranked second nationally in 2023 with 3.13 caused turnovers per game for a total of 50 on the season in 16 games.  The 50 caused turnovers are the most in a single-season in the program's Division I history, and his 94 career caused turnovers are also the highest in Division I era program history.

Piseno also added seven assists on the season, and 78 ground balls, bringing his career total in the latter to over 200.  On seven occasions during the 2023 season, Piseno forced at least four turnovers, and he won five or more ground balls in nine games, including a season high eight three times, against #4 Maryland, #12 Penn, and at Binghamton.

UAlbany's 2023 schedule, one of the toughest in the nation, ultimately featured 15 Inside Lacrosse All-America First, Second, and Third Team and Honorable Mention selections, including four First-Teamers all of whom visited Casey Stadium: Cornell's CJ Kirst and Gavin Adler, Penn's Sam Handley, and Maryland's Brett Makar.

UAlbany will host two of the four 2023 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Quarterfinal games this weekend on May 20.  The two games will feature 23 players featured among the 2023 Inside Lacrosse All-Americans.
