- Binghamton responded two minutes later on a goal by Andrew Girolamo, but UAlbany's Silas Richmond answered back to push the score to 2-1.
- With three minutes left in the first, the Bearcats tied the game on a score by Gavin Jacobsen.
- The second quarter started with back-to-back goals by Richmond, completing the first half hat trick and pushing the lead to 4-2.
- With six minutes left in the second, Binghamton scored on a goal by John Angelicola.
- The Great Danes responded by collecting back-to-back goals from Kevin Carney and Doherty, pushing the lead to 6-3.
- UAlbany continued to increase its lead as the Great Danes scored another pair of goals by Carney and Cade Galko, making it 8-3 going into halftime.
- 30 seconds into the third, Richmond found the back of the net, assisted by Brendan O'Keefe.
