Short Story: UAlbany men's track & field wins its 16th-straight America East Outdoor Championship behind eight event victories, including four from Jan Michael Gutierrez Almedina.

Track Results

• The men's 4x100m relay team of Lucas Casab, Dawshawn Williams, Jan Michael Gutierrez Almedina, and Shak Williams placed first in 41.04.
• Gutierrez Almedina won the 400m in 47.23.
• D. Williams won the 110m hurdles in a personal-best 14.53, and Easton Reagan placed eighth in 22.59.
• Gutierrez Almedina won the 200m in 21.61, followed by S. Williams in third in 22.05.
• The men's 4x400m relay team of Jakob Greenwood, Omahri Sturdivant, Reagan, and Gutierrez Almedina placed first in 3:16.06.
• D. Williams placed fifth in the 100m in 11.42.
• Reagan placed second in the 400m hurdles in a personal-best 53.39.
• The men's 4x800m relay team of Jared Rogalski, Dean Athanailos, Brandon Garcia, and Antonio Beltran placed eighth in 7:48.93.

Field Results

• Travis Robinson won the discus with a mark of 173-00.00, followed by Bryan Nicholson in second in 164-01.00.
• Louie Gordon won the men's high jump, clearing 6-05.50, and Peter Meehan placed fifth, clearing 6-02.25.
• Omahri Sturdivant placed second in the triple jump in a wind-aided 50-10.00, followed by Robert Blue in third in 49-03.75.
• Robinson placed second in the shot put, recording a freshman-record mark of 53-07.75.

Meet Notes

• Jan Michael Gutierrez Almedina won four events, the 200m, 400m, 4x100m, and 4x400m, and was named Most Outstanding Men's Track Performer and was the recipient of the Coaches' Award for highest individual scorer in the championship meet.
• The men's staff was named Coaching Staff of the Year.
• Travis Robinson's mark in the shot put breaks his own freshman class record, 52-06.75, set last week at Army West Point.  It is the third time Robinson has set the freshman class record this season.
• The women's team won their 12th-straight outdoor title, scoring 200 points behind eight event victories.
• This is UAlbany's first conference title in any sport since indoor track swept the 2020 team titles February 21-22, 2020.
