Track & Field Competes in Last Chance Meets

SHORT STORY: The track and field program split up for two last chance meets. The throwers competed at MIT on Thursday while the rest of the competitors participated in the Battle Road Twilight Meet series on Saturday.

LOCATION: Morrison Track - Cambridge, Mass.

KEY NOTES
  • Steve Hines ran sub-1:47 to break the program record, set just last year, in the 800m.
  • Shortly after, Marissa Gordon broke the program's long jump record with a 6.22-meter jump. Her jump is the longest for both outdoor and indoor track and field. Patricia McNish held both of the previous records from 2012 and 2013, respectively.
  • Skyler Smith and Jaymee Yelton both recorded personal records to improve their spots in the program's top 10 (third and fifth, respectively).
  • Running his first outdoor mile, Jacob Smith is now ranked seventh in program history.
