ALBANY, N.Y. – After a pair of victories during the week, Connor Fields and TD Ierlan were each selected for America East men's lacrosse weekly awards.
Fields was selected as the America East Offensive Player of the Week while Ierlan was chosen as the league's rookie of the week.
As a team, UAlbany has eight America East weekly awards, with two each in four different weeks. Ierlan is a repeat winner from last week, while Fields picks up his third of the season.
The pair helped Ulbany win two games during the week, both dominant wins over Canisius and UMass Lowell. UAlbany won those contests by a combined score of 41-22.
Fields had a pair of 7+ point days in the two victories, including a career-high eight goals, one shy of the program record, in the win over UMass Lowell. The junior attack totaled 12 goals and four assists for 16 points on the week.
Ierlan dominated at the face-off X this week, winning 35-for-43 in two games for 81.4%. The freshman also had a combined 27 ground balls, including a career-high 16 vs. UMass Lowell, the second highest in UAlbany history in a single game.
Fields and Ierlan will next play at Harvard on Wednesday, March 29th at 7 p.m.
