SHORT STORY: The UAlbany men's track and field team had a strong showing, Friday, in their final team meet before the conference championship.

KEY NOTES
- Jacob Smith broke a 14-year old record with a nearly sub-four-minute mile and a first-place finish. His 4:00.88 surpasses the previous mark (4:01.86) recorded by Paul Lagno in 2012.
- Four additional Great Danes made their mark by improving on or adding their name to the program's top 10.
- Frankie Gonzalez improved to third all-time while breaking the Dominican Republic national record in shot put (16.41m).
- Julio Martinez is now seventh all-time with a 1:20.85 600m dash.
- Leonard Durau was just four inches away from the freshman record but settled for seventh in program history with a 15.38m triple jump.
- Jed Elmbarki added another top-10 mark with a 4:06.93 mile (ninth).
- Overall, UAlbany had three competitors earn first place finishes in their respective events - Tooni Ogunyeye (200m), Nick Sealey (400m), and Jacob Smith (Mile).
- The Great Danes had nine people finish in the top three overall.
- As a team, UAlbany totaled 12 personal records at the Scarlet Knights Open.
