BOSTON - The UAlbany track and field teams have been selected first in the 2025-26 America East Indoor Track and Field Preseason Poll, the league announced Thursday.
Both the Great Dane men and women were named the unanimous preseason favorite with 64 points from eight first-place votes.
The UAlbany women are two-time defending champions for the AE Indoor title. Their dominance in the conference runs back to their first title in 2010 having won 13 of the last 15 championship meets. In 2025, the Great Danes won by a margin of 22.5 points over Bryant with three individual champions, 16 medalists, and 30 scorers.
The Binghamton women earned the final first-place vote to total 52 points and take second place behind the Great Dane women. Close behind, Bryant rounded out the top three with 49 points. See the full preseason poll below.
The UAlbany men are also two-time defending champions for the indoor title. Since earning their first indoor title in 2003, the Great Danes have totaled 18 championship wins, including a 12-year streak from 2016-2017. In 2025, UAlbany won by 34.5 points over UMass Lowell with six individual champions, 13 medalists, and 30 scorers.
Six-time defending AE Cross Country Champions UMass Lowell totaled 50 points for second place behind the Great Dane men. UMBC earned 46 points to round out the top three and Binghamton finished with a first-place vote and 41 points for fourth place. See the full preseason poll below.
