ALBANY, N.Y. - The University at Albany women's basketball head coach
Colleen Mullen has announced the hiring of Emily Bramanti as the program's Video Coordinator/Director of Recruiting.
"We are thrilled to welcome Emily to our Great Dane family," said Mullen. "As a player, Emily had a stand-out career playing under legendary coach Trish Brown at Stonehill College. Stonehill's rich history of success and winning culture has prepared Emily to excel in any program. A coach's daughter, Emily brings a championship mindset along with an infectious energy and enthusiasm that will make an immediate impact on our young team."
Bramanti will be in charge of organizing the team's community service efforts as well as assisting in the coordination of social media efforts, recruiting, and alumni relations. In addition to her major duties, Bramanti will assist the Director of Operations when needed and help with practice and gameday set up.
"I am very excited to be joining the University at Albany women's basketball program," said Bramanti. "The Great Danes have a championship culture that is rooted from the amazing coaches that are on staff here and I can't wait to learn from them. I am very grateful for the opportunity to start my coaching career with a talented group of players and incredible coaching staff!"
Bramanti joins the Great Danes' women's basketball staff after having graduated from Stonehill College in May 2023. During her time as a college student, she worked with multiple different organizations as a basketball instructor. Working as a coach or instructor for the New England Playmakers, Westford Academy Basketball Camp, and Dana Barros Elite, most of the players she worked with were on the cusp of their high school careers.
A five-year women's basketball student-athlete, Bramanti spent her entire career with the Skyhawks. A three-year captain, she led her team to a national ranking in their final two years as a Division II team (2020-22) with two appearances at the NCAA Tournament. In her final year as a Skyhawk, she was named NEC First Team All-Conference following the completion of the team's first season as a Division I team.
A native of Chelmsford, Mass., Bramanti holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Communication. She currently resides in Albany, N.Y.
