How it Happened
- The men raced first in Saturday's season opener at the Marist Invitational over a shorter course of 6K. Jared Rogalski was the top UAlbany finisher, covering the distance in 19:37.4 to place 14th overall.
- Freshman Logan Doll was the next Great Dane to finish, placing 26th in 20:00.4 in his first collegiate race. He was followed by freshmen Isaac Graber in 30th in 20:03.1 and Nikolas Christian in 31st in 20:04.4. Isaac Menis rounded out the men's scorers in 44th in 20:30.8.
- The men's scoring gap was 53.4 seconds.
- Sophomore Alondra Cruz-Delgado earned UAlbany's best finish of the opening weekend, placing seventh overall over the women's 5K course in 19:06.9.
- Sophomore Skyler Smith was the women's second finisher, placing 19th in 20:08.1. Katie Iocca placed 21st in 20:10.6, followed by Maria Grijalva in 25th in 20:15.0, and Hannah Steiner in 30th in 20:24.9 to round out the women's scorers.
- The women's scoring gap was 1:18.0.
