Petty Named Player of the Week

BOSTON - The University at Albany softball's Morgan Petty was named the America East Player of the Week, announced Tuesday.

A Milford, Del. native, Petty led the Great Danes through a doubleheader sweep over Bryant while helping UAlbany to a 3-1 week. Going 5-11 in four games, the senior totaled six runs and 10 RBI. Seeing two home runs against the Bulldogs, Petty went 2-3 in the conference doubleheader with three runs and eight RBI.

This is Petty's second career conference award, the first of the season.

Overall, this is UAlbany's fourth conference award of the season - Kate Powers (April 4 - Pitcher), Sierra Fretz (March 21 - Player), and Sara Anderson (March 21 - Rookie) precede it.

The Great Danes are set for a weekend series at UMass Lowell on April 29-30.
