BOSTON – University at Albany freshman Thomas Decker has been named America East Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday.  He was named alongside offensive player Michael McCormack from Vermont and defensive player Kyle Hoff from UMBC.
 
Decker, a midfielder from North Massapequa, N.Y.,  had the first breakout game of his young career in the Great Danes' game against Syracuse last Thursday, the first time the Orange had visited Albany in series history.  Decker, who had scored twice in eight appearances this season, went off for three goals and one assist against Syracuse, helping power the Great Danes to their third victory in the series.
