BOSTON - The University at Albany softball's Morgan Petty was named the America East Player of the Week, announced Tuesday.
 
A Milford, Del. native, Petty opened the season with two home runs and a league-high six RBI in one weekend of play. The junior scored four runs with a .400 batting average to lead the Great Danes.
 
Going 2-3 from the plate against the tournament's host, Winthrop, Petty hit a home run for two RBI to lead UAlbany to a 4-1 win on Friday, February 19. Petty added three RBI in the final game of the weekend - Robert Morris - on Sunday, February 20.
 
This is Petty's first career conference award.
 
UAlbany is set to continue play at the 2022 Spring Games on March 4-6.
