BOSTON - Just over a week before the season begins, the UAlbany women's basketball team has been ranked in the College Insider Women's Mid-Major Top-25, announced Tuesday evening.
"We are very honored that the College Insider coaching panel views our team as having the potential to be a mid-major top 25 contender," said head coach
Colleen Mullen. "My staff has worked extremely hard over the last four years to develop and recruit high-character, hard-working athletes who strive for excellence in the classroom and on the court. This recognition truly is a testament to our player's work ethic, selflessness and buy-in to our championship culture. We are lucky to return a lot of experience and depth. If we continue to focus on getting better every day and elevating in all we do, we will have the opportunity to accomplish our team's goals."
The only team in the America East ranked in the poll, the Great Danes received 195 points to earn the 19th position in the poll. Portland sits just above them with 217 points for 18th place while Kent State is just below with 191 points for 20th.
