Great Danes Kick Off Road Swing at St. Francis Brooklyn

December 15 at St. Francis Brooklyn
ALBANY, N.Y. -- The Great Danes head to St. Francis Brooklyn on Saturday, December 15 to kick off a three-game road swing. UAlbany plays its final three game of 2018 on the road, visiting Purdue on December 19 and Columbia on December 29.
UAlbany currently holds a 6-2 advantage in the all-time series. Saturday's meeting marks the first since the 2014-15 season, where the Great Danes opened the season with a 90-47 win at the SEFCU Arena. Three-time America East All-Conference selection, Imani Tate led all players with 22 points in the victory.
A win would snap the squad's seven-game skid. The Great Danes have lost the last five of their six games by an average of just 5.6 points.
The Great Danes faced a 74-56 setback against in-state foe Marist last Wednesday. Sophomore Kyara Frames recorded her third 20-point game of the season, scoring a game-high 23 points in the loss. Senior Heather Forster brought down a game-best 11 rebounds, while adding seven points, but it wasn't enough to handle Marist who shot 47.1 percentage from the floor.
LOOKING AT UALBANY
Kyara Frames currently ranks 10th in the America East averaging 12.9 points per game, while headlining the squad with 29 helpers and 15 steals. Heather Forster continues to lead the league with a career-high 8.2 rebounds per game and is chipping in with 6.9 points per contest. Junior Amanda Kantzy and senior Chyanna Canada add to the offense with 7.6 and 7.2 points per game, respectively. As a team, the Great Danes are shooting 34.4 percent (186-540) from the floor and 27.6 percentage (50-181) from downtown.
SCOUTING THE TERRIERS
St. Francis Brooklyn enters Saturday looking for its third straight win after defeating Loyola, 75-70, and Saint Peter's, 74-70, last week. The Terriers have three players averaging double figures, led by Jade Johnson who is boasting 18.8 points so far this season. Maria Palarino (10.8) and Ebony Horton (10.2) sit second and third, respectively, while Palarino's 7.3 boards are pacing all Terriers. As a team, St. Francis Brooklyn is shooting 45.5 percentage (259-571) from the floor and 44.8 percentage (78-174) from long range.
A WIN WOULD
A win would snap a seven-game skid. A win would also mark the Great Danes first victory in December, after dropping its previous three contests of the month.
20-20 VISION
Kyara Frames has eclipsed the 20-point mark three times this season. The guard first entered the 20-point club after posting a career-high 25 points against Canisius on Nov. 28. Frames followed her career performance with 23 points at Lafayette (Dec. 1) before posting 23 points the next week against Marist on Dec. 8.
IT'S RAINING THREES
With six three-pointers against Marist, Kyara Frames reached a new career high in three-pointers made. Three of her six long balls came in the third quarter where she went a perfect 3-3. Her six three-pointers in a single game are the third most in a single game in program history.
