ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany men's soccer team and Head Coach Trevor Gorman have officially announced the program's 2026 schedule.
The Great Danes are coming off a season in which they qualified for the America East Tournament and will look to build on that success in 2026 with a challenging 17-match regular-season schedule. The slate features 10 non-conference contests while hosting eight matches at Bob Ford Field at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium.
Five of UAlbany's eight home opponents qualified for the 2025 NCAA Tournament, including Ivy League champion Princeton, Metro champion Siena, Northeast Conference champion FDU, America East Championship finalist Bryant, and conference rival Vermont, the two-time defending America East Tournament champion and 2024 NCAA College Cup champion.
Among the 2025 NCAA Tournament field, three of UAlbany's opponents earned national seeds, including No. 1 overall seed Vermont, No. 3 seed Princeton and No. 11 seed Bryant.
UAlbany opens the 2026 campaign with a trip to East Lansing to face Michigan State of the Big Ten on Aug. 20 before returning to Casey Stadium for back-to-back home matches against FDU on Aug. 27 and Colgate on Aug. 30.
Following a road trip to Dartmouth on Sept. 4, the Capital Region Derby returns to Casey Stadium as UAlbany hosts the 2025 Metro champions, Siena, on Sept. 8. The two programs met annually from 2001-13 before renewing the rivalry in 2024. The Great Danes hold a narrow 7-6-2 edge in the all-time series after the two sides battled to a scoreless draw in Loudonville last September.
UAlbany next welcomes the 2025 Ivy League champions, Princeton, to Casey Stadium on Sept. 12 before another series of road matches at Marist on Sept. 15 and Central Connecticut State on Sept. 20.
America East play begins on Sept. 26 when the Purple and Gold host New Hampshire. The conference opener is followed by a non-conference trip to Monmouth on Sept. 29 before UAlbany resumes league play at UMass Lowell on Oct. 3.
The Great Danes return to Casey Stadium to host 2025 America East Championship finalist Bryant on Oct. 10 before welcoming Northeastern for the team's final non-conference contest on Oct. 13.
UAlbany closes the regular season with four consecutive America East matches, traveling to NJIT on Oct. 17 before hosting the back-to-back America East champions Vermont on Oct. 24. The Great Danes conclude the regular season with road contests at UMBC on Oct. 30 and Binghamton on Nov. 3.
