ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany men's soccer team is set to open the 2025 America East Championship Tournament with a quarterfinal matchup against UMass Lowell on Saturday, November 8.
Different from the regular season, fans will need to purchase a ticket to attend tournament games. Tickets for Gold Reserved Chairbacks are $13.50, and Gold Chairbacks for children are $7.50. Click

The higher seed will once again host this year's America East Men's Soccer Championship in each round. The top two seeds earned first-round byes and will host semifinal matchups. UAlbany, the No. 3 seed, will welcome No. 6 UMass Lowell to Casey Stadium for the first round of postseason action.

CONFERENCE ACTION REVIEW
The Great Danes finished the America East regular season with a 3-2-2 record, earning wins over New Hampshire (3-0), UMBC (2-0), and Binghamton (2-0), while securing one point each against NJIT (1-1) and UMass Lowell (1-1). Its only losses in conference play came against both Bryant and Vermont, who, at the time of playing the Great Danes, were both ranked as the third-highest-ranked team in the country.
Ivar Gissurarson led the Great Danes against America East opponents, scoring two goals and one assist.
Roko Branko Mrvelj led UAlbany with four assists, while Caleb Valance also finished conference play with two goals.
GREAT DANE REWIND
This is the first time the Great Danes have been to the postseason since the 2022 season, when the team went 6-8-6 overall and 3-2-4 in America East play. In the 2022 #AEMSOC Championship, as the No.3 Seed, The Great Danes matched up with six seed NJIT, defeating the Highlanders (2-0), before going on to beat the No.2 Seed Vermont (1-0) and ultimately falling to UNH (0-2) in the championship match.

POSTSEASON EXPERIENCE
The Great Danes are making their 14th all-time appearance in the America East Tournament and their 10th appearance under head coach
Trevor Gorman. The last time the Great Danes raised the America East Championship goes back to November 12, 2017, when they defeated UMass Lowell 1-0 in double overtime.
ABOUT #6 UMASS LOWELL
UMass Lowell enters the tournament as the No. 6 seed following a 2-3-2 conference record. The River Hawks earned key results with 1-0 wins over Binghamton and NJIT, with key ties vs UAlbany and No.2 Vermont. The Riverhawks have been without their team leader in points, Justin Pham, since he last played against Brown on September 20. Linus Musielak, who is second on the team in points, has currently scored two goals with one assist. In total, UML has 13 different players to have scored a goal this season. In net, the Riverhawks have been splitting time goal between Alvaro Medrano (4-2-2) and Jorge Ortega (3-4-1)

UAlbany leads the all-time series, 7-6-2. The Great Danes tied the Riverhawks 1-1 in the final game of the regular season on November 4, 2024, at Casey Stadium, with goals from
