BOSTON - Amaya Stewart of UAlbany women's basketball has been named the America East Rookie of the Week, as announced Monday.
 
Freshman Amaya Stewart averaged 20.5 points shooting over 50% throughout the most recent week of competition. Against NJIT, the rookie forward totaled a career-high 25 points before helping the Great Danes to a win over UMBC with 16 points in the double-overtime contest.
 
This is Stewart's, and the team's, fourth AE weekly award of the season.
 
UAlbany will continue its season at Maine on Thursday (Feb. 26) before their final regular-season matchup at New Hampshire on Saturday (Feb. 28).
