Women's Basketball Welcomes Two Transfers

ALBANY, N.Y. - The University at Albany women’s basketball program and head coach Colleen Mullen announce two transfers for the 2025-26 season.

Júlia Palomo and Lara Langermann will join the previously announced freshman class to fill out the 2025-26 roster.

The Great Danes look to continue a legacy that most recently has seen four consecutive 20-win seasons and appearances at national postseason tournaments.

Júlia Palomo

G | 5-7 | La Seu d’Urgell, Spain | Evansville

Quick Background: Palomo started playing basketball with her hometown club, Sedia Básquet. She began her collegiate career at Casper College, a junior college in Wyoming, before transferring to the University of Evansville as a junior. As an Ace, she started nearly every game for two years before earning her degree from Evansville in May 2025.

Mullen on Palomo: “Júlia is a dynamic guard who has proven she is a reliable scorer from all three levels. Her high basketball IQ, playmaking ability, and lockdown defensive mindset will help her make an immediate impact on the court. Her experience as a graduate transfer will bring valuable leadership to our team and will help elevate us both on and off the court.”

Lara Langermann

G | 5-7 | Breckerfield, Germany | New Mexico

Quick Background: Recently playing for VFI Wiactiv AstroLadies Bochum in the Damen Basketball Bundesliga, her team placed second in the league standings before reaching the semifinal in the German Women’s League and finishing fourth in the German Cup. Also a member of the BasketGirls Ruhr in the WNBL (Weibliche Nachwuchsbundesliga), Germany’s first under-18 league, she added time with Herner TC in the Division I Damen Regionalliga during the 2021-22 season. With Herner TC, she finished first in the league and advanced to the second German Senior League.

Mullen on Langermann: “Lara is a high-motor and versatile player whose size and strength will help her play a variety of positions. Playing for her home country, Germany, she has gained valuable experience competing on the national stage. Lara is a team player who will provide depth and talent for us at the guard position.”
