Women's Basketball Rounds Out Freshman Class

ALBANY, N.Y. - The University at Albany women’s basketball program and head coach Colleen Mullen fills out the rookie class for the 2025-26 season with two additional freshmen.

Anais Levasseur and Emma Zuccon will join the previously announced Nila Giraud, Amaya Stewart, and Laura Vera Ramirez as the Great Danes begin the 2025-26 season in November.

The Great Danes are fresh off four consecutive 20-win seasons with appearances at national postseason tournaments. During the 2024-25 season, UAlbany hit 20 wins in mid-February before earning the America East Regular Season Champion title.

Anais Levasseur

PG | 5-9 | Quebec City, Quebec, Canada | Champlain College Saint-Lambert | SLAM

Quick Background: Levasseur is a crafty point guard who has had a prolific high school career. As a senior, she was named the RSEQ Player of the Year. A First Team All-Canadian All-Star, she was also named an academic all-star. Her ability to create for her teammates and defend will have an immediate impact on our backcourt.

Mullen on Levasseur: “Anais is a pure point guard who flourishes in an up-tempo style of play. She is a crafty passer in the lane and has a very high basketball acumen. Her ability to shoot from deep really allows her to create scoring opportunities for her teammates.”

Emma Zuccon

F | 6-0 | Treviso, Italy | Reyer Venezia

Quick Background: Zuccon has played at a high level in her country and will bring a wealth of experience to our program. Highlighted by winning the U18 3x3 Italian national title this past September, she has competed in many European championships at various levels of play. Her length and athleticism will allow her to make an impact at both ends of the floor.

Mullen on Zuccon: “Emma is a high-motor post who can rebound and run the floor. She uses her length and athleticism well on the defensive end. She will provide much-needed depth in our front line.”
