BOSTON - The University at Albany men's track and field's
Tooni Ogunyeye was named the America East Rookie of the Week, announced Tuesday.

Tooni Ogunyeye earned his sixth Rookie of the Week nod with two first-place finishes at the Bobbi Palma UAlbany Spring Classic. Ogunyeye helped the men open the competition with a meet record in the 4x100m relay. The previous record was nearly 10 years old.
Along with a wind-aided 10.27 in the 100m race, Ogunyeye is ranked 36th in the East region with two times from the Spring Classic (100m & 4x100m).
The UAlbany men's track and field now has 13 weekly awards throughout the 2024-25 season. Overall, the track and field teams have earned 26 weekly awards in 2024-25 (including the women's awards from this week).
The Great Danes will compete in their final meet before the Outdoor America East Championships this week - the Penn Relays (Apr. 24-26).
