EMERSON, N.J. - UAlbany softball alumna Katie Falotico '22 was inducted to the Emerson High School Hall of Fame, Friday evening.
 
A five-year student-athlete for UAlbany, Falotico finished her collegiate career with a stamp on the Great Dane program. Third in program history with 45 doubles, she also closed her career seventh with 127 RBI, ninth with 172 hits, 10th with 18 home runs, 11th with a .325 batting average, and 14th with 99 runs. 
 
In her first season with the Great Danes, Falotico was named America East All-Rookie with 39 starts and 44 appearances, including the NCAA Tournament games, while finishing second on the team with a .325 batting average. She went on to be named First Team All-Conference and All-Academic when leading the team in batting average (.352), slugging percentage (.570), hits (50), doubles (15), RBI (41), runs (34), home runs (4), and triples (2) as a sophomore. Although her junior season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, that did not stop her from leading and being named First Team All-Conference in 2021 and 2022.
 
Falotico's list of awards did not stop with her graduation from the program. After the league championship game in 2022, she was named the Elite-18 award winner for having the highest GPA of all competing in the softball championship. She went on to be the UAlbany nominee for the conference's Woman of the Year award and eventually a member of the Capital District Sports Women of the Year Class of 2022.
 
In high school, Falotico was a four-year varsity athlete in both soccer and softball. In her final two seasons of softball, she batted over .500 with 45 RBI. A highly awarded athlete, she was twice named First Team All-North Jersey, thrice awarded First Team All-Bergen County, and earned First Team All-League honors four times. The first-baseman was a member of two NJIC Patriot League Championships and the Emerson MVP three times.
