BOSTON – The America East announced its 2025 men's soccer awards on Tuesday afternoon. Junior forward
Ivar Gissurarson received Second Team All-Conference honors, while
Roko Branko Mrvelj and
Alexander Clive received All-Rookie Team nods, and senior midfielder
Caleb Vallance earned an All-Academic spot.
Gissurarson, a junior from Reykjavík, Iceland, led UAlbany in scoring with six goals and two assists for 14 points, finishing fourth in the America East in goals and eighth in total points. The forward recorded multi-goal efforts in wins over Rhode Island (Sept. 5) and New Hampshire (Oct. 4) and netted the game-winner in the conference victory against the Wildcats.
Clive, a freshman from Selfoss, Iceland, made an immediate impact in his first season with the Great Danes. He totaled three goals and three assists for nine points, ranking second on the team. Clive registered his first collegiate goal at LIU (Aug. 31) and added assists in conference wins over New Hampshire and UMBC.
Mrvelj, a freshman from Langen, Germany, became a key piece in UAlbany's midfield, appearing in all 17 matches and leading the Great Danes with six assists, good for second in the America East. He posted two multi-assist performances, including a two-assist outing in the 3–0 win over Rhode Island (Sept. 5).
Vallance, a senior from Powell River, British Columbia, was one of 10 players named to the America East All-Academic Team. Majoring in Business Administration, he holds a 3.95 GPA and appeared in all 17 matches this season. On the field, he scored two goals and added one assist for four points, ranking among UAlbany's most experienced contributors with 44 career appearances including 14 starts.
