BOSTON -
Kayla Cooper of UAlbany women's basketball has been named the America East Player of the Week for the third consecutive week, as announced Monday.
Throughout the third week of competition, graduate student
Kayla Cooper led the team with an average of 22.5 points per game. Earning a double-double (21 points & 10 rebounds), Cooper helped lead the Great Danes to an upset over Syracuse on the road before totaling 24 points against Cornell at Broadview Center. Through the two wins, the Frederick, Maryland native shot nearly 75% (.739) from the field.
This is Cooper's ninth career AE Player of the Week award and third of the season.
UAlbany will continue its season at home against local Division III opponent, RPI, on Wednesday, November 27 before heading to Stonehill on Sunday (Dec. 1).
