ALBANY, N.Y. – Connor Fields and the top-seed Archers LC of the Premier Lacrosse League will face off against the defending champion Waterdogs LC in the 2023 PLL Championship Game on Sunday, September 24. The title game will be held in Subaru Park in Chester, Pa.
Â
The Archers finished the 2023 regular season with a record of 8-2, and led the PLL in scoring defense while ranking second in scoring offense. Fields, who's stellar career at UAlbany came to an end upon his graduating following the 2017 season, has the chance to become the third Great Dane to win a PLL title, following Blaze Riorden and Troy Reh's Chaos LC in 2021.
Â
Fields was one of the most prolific attackers in 2023, scoring 39 total points behind 28 goals and 11 assists. He scored four or more points in six of the Archers' 10 regular-season games. One of three Eamon McEneaney Attackman of the Year finalists, Fields ranked third in the PLL in total points, second in goals scored, and tied for 13th in assists recorded in 2023.
Â
The Archers and the Waterdogs split two games in the regular season, with the Archers taking the first meeting in Dallas on July 30, 19-18, and the Waterdogs winning the rematch, 14-13 on August 25 in Salt Lake City in each team's regular season finale.
Â
After winning the regular season title, the Archers earned a bye into the PLL semifinals, where they dispatched the Redwoods LC 14-6. The Waterdogs knocked off two-time PLL champion Whipsnakes LC in the quarterfinals, 15-12, and advanced to the final after beating the Cannons LC 17-6 in the semifinals.

Sunday's championship game will be broadcast at 3:00 pm on ABC and ESPN+.
