BOSTON – The University at Albany women's lacrosse program landed two of the three America East weekly awards this week, the conference announced Monday.
Katie Pascale repeated as Offensive Player and goalkeeper
Aislinn Sweeney was named for Defensive Player.
Pascale, a junior midfielder from Baldwinsville, N.Y., led UAlbany to two victories last week, scoring nine points against four-time defending MAAC champion Fairfield, before scoring five points, including the go-ahead goal with 11 seconds remaining at Brown. Pascale has scored 23 total points in her last three games and ranks fifth in the country with 6.00 points per game.
Sweeney, a senior from Halfmoon, N.Y., earned two victories in net last week. Against both Fairfield and Brown, Sweeney recorded a season-low seven goals against, while making eight saves against the Stags and 10 against the Bears. Sweeney now ranks in the top-10 in program history in saves and victories.
