BOSTON – University at Albany Women's lacrosse freshman attacker Mya Carroll has been named America East Rookie of the Week. UAlbany women's lacrosse split the week with an overtime victory over Binghamton while standing toe-to-toe with perennial powerhouse #5 Syracuse out of the ACC.
 

This is Carroll's fourth America East Rookie of the Week honor.

Carroll totaled six points on three goals and three assists across the two games, while also contributing five draw controls, two ground balls, and a caused turnover.

In Tuesday's tight 10-8 loss against #5 Syracuse, Carroll was one of the primary offensive sparks for the Great Danes. She tied for a team high three points on two goals and one assist, while also securing two draw controls. She successfully converted a free-position goal against one of the nation's top defensive units, helping UAlbany stay within striking distance of the Orange until the final whistle.

Carroll followed that up with a strong performance in UAlbany's 12-11 overtime victory against Binghamton. She recorded three points on one goal and two assists. Carroll led all rookies on the team with three draw controls, including a critical win in the overtime period as she helped the Great Danes move to 3-0 in America East play.
