Thompson Named to Upstate Lacrosse Foundation Hall of Fame

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – University at Albany alumnus Lyle Thompson will be inducted into the Upstate Lacrosse Foundation Hall of Fame with the Class of 2022.
 
"It's an honor to be inducted into the Upstate Lacrosse Hall of Fame," said Thompson.  "I'm proud to represent my community, family, and coaches.  There have been so many people that have helped and guided me along the way.  And, as always, I am extremely grateful for the game of lacrosse.  It has given me so much more than I could ever give it."
 
Thompson, one of the best players in men's lacrosse history, graduated from UAlbany in 2015.  He won the Tewaaraton Award in back-to-back seasons in 2014 and 2015.  The Great Danes' all-time leading scorer, Thompson holds the NCAA single-season points record, and ranks second in NCAA history with 400 career points and 225 career assists.
 
During his career at UAlbany, Thompson led the Great Danes to three America East titles and 46 total victories, while making two NCAA quarterfinal appearances.
 
Joining Thompson in the Class of 2022 is Erica (LaGrow) Bamford, Mike DeMaria, Kyle Guadagnolo, Jeremy Hollenbeck, Kevin Martin, Brandon Spillett, and Eric Ungleich.
 
The induction ceremony will take place on Sunday, October 16 at the Traditions at the Links in East Syracuse, N.Y.  Information about ticket availability will be available at a later date.
