GREENWOOD, Ind. - After four consecutive America East All-Academic honors,
Katie Falotico has been named Academic All-District, announced Thursday.
Off the heels of earning two conference awards, the Emerson, N.J. native is selected to the Division I Academic All-District I First Team . Nominated and voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America, the Academic All-America program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
A graduate student, Falotico graduated with a bachelor's in business administration before working towards her master's in organizational communication. She will close out her career after three years as the Great Danes' SAAC Community Engagement Chair.
On the field, Falotico led the America East in doubles (17) and triples (4). She finished in the top-three for batting average (.369), hits (45), RBI (36), slugging percentage (.672), and on-base percentage (.416).
In the nation, she ranks ninth with .39 doubles per game.
For her efforts, the fifth-year student-athlete compiled her third First Team All-Conference honor.
A CoSIDA First Team All-District honoree, Falotico will advance to the pool of candidates for Academic All-America. Academic All-Americans will be announced on June 7.
