KEY STATS
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Three consecutive singles and a run scored started the game to give the Great Danes an early lead.
  • Fordham immediately answered with a three-run homer to make it 3-1 after the first inning.
  • Senior Kasey Conn bunted to get on base in the second inning. Making her way around the bases, she scored on an error for UAlbany's second run.
  • Katie Parisi tied the score in the third inning. After hitting a double, the rookie scored off a sac fly from Taylor Quinn.
  • In the bottom of the fourth, the Great Dane defense retired the first three batters, including a strikeout from Hayley Wieczerzak.
  • UAlbany once again took advantage of an error, this time a passed ball, to help Sara Anderson get around the bases and scored the go-ahead run in the top of the fifth.
  • Sophomore Ava Beal, pinch running after a hit from Sierra Roy, scored what proved to be the final Great Dane run in the top of the sixth to make it a 5-3 game.
  • Wieczerzak struck out the first two of four batters in the bottom of the sixth.
  • Fordham got the last say with a single run in the bottom of the seventh but the UAlbany defense held off what could've been the game-tying run and ended the game for the 5-4 win.

NEXT: The Great Danes will return home to host four final games. After a midweek game against Siena (Apr. 14), UAlbany is set to welcome Bryant for Senior Week (Apr. 18-19).
