BOSTON - University at Albany right-handed pitcher Dominic Savino has been named America East Pitcher of the Week, the conference offices announced Tuesday. It is Savino's third such award this season. He was named alongside Player of the Week Dylan Resk from Stony Brook, and Rookie of the Week Kyle Maurice from UMass Lowell.

Savino, a junior from Smithtown, N.Y., pitched a complete game (7.0 innings), allowing one run on four hits with seven strikeouts in UAlbany's only win over UMass Lowell over the weekend. For the season, Savino, who holds an ERA of 3.41 leads the America East with seven wins, ranks third with 66.0 innings pitched, and ranks fourth with 58 strikeouts.

UAlbany returns to action today to host Army West Point, and will host its final three home games of the season this weekend against Maine.
