Men's Soccer Kicks Off Two-Game Road Trip at Lafayette on Tuesday

ALBANY, N.Y.- Undefeated in four of its last five, University at Albany men's soccer (3-2-1) hits the road for Lafayette (3-1-3) on Tuesday night. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m., in Easton, Pa.

Afonso Pinheiro scored twice in a 2-2 double overtime draw against Central Connecticut on Saturday night. The contest against the Blue Devils was his second two-goal performance of the season, having also netted two goals in a 4-0 victory over UMass on Sept. 10. The defending America East Co-Rookie of the Year is tied for first on the team with countryman Leo Melgar in season goals. The Brazilian pair has combined for eight of UAlbany's nine goals thus far in 2015.

With four goals each, Melgar and Pinheiro are tied for first in the America East in total goals. Melgar is first in the league in points with nine, while Pinheiro ranks tied for second with eight.

Pedro Espindola and Martin Gorrie make UAlbany appearances on the America East assist board this week. Espindola is second with three assists, while Gorrie ranks tied for third with two.
