Men’s Soccer Drops Nonconference Clash in New Jersey

Score: UAlbany 0, Princeton 2

Short Story: The University at Albany men's soccer team fell to Princeton in a Saturday night match up 2-0.

  • Princeton outshot UAlbany 15–9, including a 5–2 advantage on goal.
  • Both teams earned two corner kicks.
  • The Tigers committed 12 fouls, while the Great Danes recorded nine.
  • Brennan McDermott and Roko Branko Mrvelj each registered one shot on goal for UAlbany.

How It Happened:
  • Mrvelj recorded the game's first shot in the 10th minute, forcing Princeton goalkeeper Andrew Samuels into an early save.
  • Princeton's first attempt came in the 13th minute off Daniel Ittycheria's foot.
  • Tsuzuki made his first save in the 24th minute, stopping another Ittycheria shot.
  • In the 43rd minute, Princeton was awarded a penalty kick. Ittycheria converted, placing the ball into the top-left corner to give the Tigers a 1–0 halftime lead.
  • UAlbany opened the second half with the first shot in the 46th minute.
  • Princeton doubled its advantage in the 85th minute when Martin Jackson finished a cross from Kevin Kelley in front of the net. The score held as the Tigers secured the 2–0 victory.
