Softball Wins Last Game At Rebel

Buffalo Box Score
WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The University at Albany softball team concluded play at the Rebel Spring Games on Tuesday, with a 1-0 victory over Buffalo (12-10). The Danes were scheduled to play a game earlier Tuesday morning against UW-Green Bay, but changes to the tournament schedule and constrictions on UAlbany's departure time pushed that game from the slate.
Brittany MacFawn (4-2) started the game on the mound for UAlbany (8-5), pitching a complete game shutout, recording five strikeouts and giving up only two hits. Neither team scored a run until the bottom of the seventh inning, when Maggie Cocks hit a sacrifice fly that scored Lindsey Haskell, breaking the 0-0 tie and ending the game 1-0 in favor of the Danes.
UAlbany ended their run at the tournament with a 6-3 record, playing nine games in six days. Entering regular season play, which begins Saturday, March 22 at Stony Brook, the Danes are 8-5 overall. Seven of UAlbany's scheduled games have not been played, due to schedule changes and inclement weather.
UAlbany begins a three game set at Stony Brook on Saturday, before the home opener against Binghamton on Saturday, March 29 at 1:00 p.m.
