Day Two At Citrus Rained Out

ORLANDO – The University at Albany softball team was scheduled to play games today against Northern Illinois and NC State at the Citrus Classic. The proceedings were delayed due to weather, and will resume tomorrow with alterations to the tournament schedule.
UAlbany left the field for the last time in the fourth inning against Northern Illinois, accumulating a 3-1 lead over the Huskies before rain halted play. The Danes scored three runs in the top of the first inning. Vicky McFarland led the game off with a walk. Kelly Costello followed up with a base hit. Maggie Cocks bunted for a hit. Marlin Solano then drove in two runs with the help of an infield error by the Northern Illinois defense. Finally, Elizabeth Snow hit a sacrifice fly to left field for UAlbany's third and final run of the day.
UAlbany will resume play against Northern Illinois at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, and then play NC State at 11:30 a.m. The Danes will not play their final scheduled game against Lamar.
