Long Island's Second-Half Run Knocks Off UAlbany, 64-52;Henry Records Double-Double

Brooklyn, N.Y.- A 15-2 run in the beginning of the second half and going 23-31 from the free throw line helped Long Island defeat UAlbany, 64-52, on Nov. 30. The Blackbirds' Ashley Palmer led all scorers with 20 points and 14 rebounds. The Great Danes' Ebone Henry recorded her second double-double of the season with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
In a game that could have been described as day-and-night, Long Island came out shooting red-hot (42.3%) in the second half scoring 44 points to overcome a seven-point deficit.
Henry and Cassandra Callaway led the Great Danes in scoring with 12 points. Callaway went 4-9 (44.4%) from beyond the arc.
Palmer (20) and Kiara Evans (10) scored double figures for the Blackbirds. Ebony Davis tallied seven points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
UAlbany jumped out to an early 11-7 lead with 15:09 to play, which was contributed by hot shooting from behind the arc. Cassandra Callaway (2-3) and Ebone Henry (1-1) combined for 3-4 from three-point land.
After two made free throws from Long Island's Cleandra Roberts to pull the game within two, 11-9, UAlbany and Long Island would go back-and-forth trading buckets. The Great Danes would end the half with a Callaway three and seven-point lead, 27-20.
Long Island would look to grab the lead early in the second half going on a 15-2 run to go up on UAlbany, 45-30, with 11:01 left to play. The Blackbirds' Krystal Wells led the charge with all eight of her points in that run.
Henry helped UAlbany cut the deficit to nine, 49-40, scoring six straight points to help go on a 10-4 run, with 7:50 left to play.
But Long Island's hot-shooting and going 20-25 from the free throw line in the second half were too much for UAlbany in the end, as the Blackbirds finished the game, 64-52.
