Vestal, N.Y. ? University at Albany's Kamilah McShine advanced to the finals in the both the 100- and 400-meter hurdles to highlight her team's performance on the first day of competition at the America East Conference Track & Field Championships.  The two-day event is being held at Binghamton University's East Gym Track Complex.

McShine eclipsed her own meet record in the 100-hurdles when she posted a time of 13.86 seconds.  She is attempting to win her third America East hurdles crown.  McShine also registered the preliminary round's best time in the 400-hurdles as she hit the tape in 1:01.20.

Sophomore Kadine Johnson established a school record in finishing second in the hammer throw.  Johnson, who placed fifth at last year's conference championship, threw an ECAC-qualifying mark of 162-feet, 5-inches.  She broke Natasha Bermudez's standard of 156-7 that was set in 2004.

In the preliminaries, Fey Adaramola qualified for the finals in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes.  The Central Florida transfer ran the second-fastest time of the afternoon in the 100 by sprinting 12.06 seconds.  She also recorded a time of 24.77 in the 200.  Melissa Lee reached the 400-meter championship race and was clocked in 58.10.  The Great Danes are in third in the team standings after the first day.
