Wappingers Falls, N.Y. - Former UAlbany pitcher Mark Suchowiecki signed with the Hudson Valley Renegades of the New York-Penn League. The Renegades are the single A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

Suchoweicki, a left-handed hurler from Newburgh, N.Y., spent last season with the rookie-level Princeton Devil Rays of the Appalachian League after signing a free-agent contract with Tampa Bay following his senior season at UAlbany.

Suchoweicki finished his three-year career with the Great Danes with a 10-9 record, striking out 119 opposing batters in 150.3 innings of work. His 81.1 innings as a senior is second all-time on the UAlbany single-season chart.

The Renegades start the 2007 season on June 19 with a three-game series at Aberdeen.
