Joe Greene Named New York Relays Most Outstanding Male Performer

New York, N.Y. ? University at Albany's Joe Greene captured the 400-meter hurdles and was named the Most Outstanding Male Performer of the Meet at the New York Relays on Sunday, April 22 at Randall's Island. Greene was clocked in 51.42 seconds that set a new meet record.   

            Luke Schoen, a freshman, won the pole vault with a leap of 16-feet, 7-inches to eclipse his own school-mark by 2.5-inches. He qualified for the NCAA East Regional with the performance. The men's 4x800 relay team of Jared Jupin, John Moore, Joe Belokopitsky and Gered Burns won the event with a school-record and meet-record time of 7:35.60. Then they went on to win the 4x400 relay in a time of 3:19.36.

In the women's competition, 4x400 relay team toppled the previous school mark set in 2004. Anisha Andrews, Zuliana Fontanez, Ashley Vives and Adanna Andrews posted a time of 3:49.78, good for second place finish. Jessica Ortman won the 3,000 steeplechase in a meet-record time of 11:05.51.
