UAlbany Men’s Basketball Hosts Hartford for Senior Night, Regular Season Finale

ALBANY, N.Y.The UAlbany men's basketball team will host Hartford for the 2016-17 regular season finale and Senior Night on Saturday, February 25th at 7 p.m. at the SEFCU Arena.

UAlbany is currently tied for third place in the America East and would secure the 3-seed in the conference tournament with a win on Saturday.  A loss would make UAlbany the 4-seed.  UAlbany is assured a home game in the America East Tournament quarterfinals on March 1st at 7:30 p.m.

Rodger Wyland and Jeremy Friel will have the call online on AE on ESPN3.  In addition, Zach Bye and Steve Dagostino will broadcast on the radio on 104.5 the Team.

UAlbany had a four-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday with a 62-50 defeat at Vermont to come in at 18-12 overall and 9-6 in the league.  Hartford defeated Binghamton 76-69 at home on Wednesday to rise to seventh place in the America East at 9-21 overall and 4-11 in league play.  UAlbany won its 11th meeting in the last 13 against Hartford 74-61 on the road on January 28th to lead the all-time series 21-12.

Before the game, UAlbany will be honoring its two seniors, Dallas Ennema and Mike Rowley, each playing their final home regular season game, in a pregame ceremony.

THE DYNAMIC DUO: Joe Cremo and David Nichols have been a strong scoring pair this season, with each standing in the top-10 in points per game in the America East.  Between the two, they have 20 20+ point games and a combined 54 double digit scoring contests (of a possible 60) this season.

SWITCHING LINEUPS: UAlbany played the same starting five in 17 of the first 18 games this season: Joe Cremo, Marqueese Grayson, David Nichols, Mike Rowley and Greig Stire.  The last 12 games, Devonte Campbell entered the starting lineup for Grayson; UAlbany is 9-3 in those contests.

SEVEN WINNING LEAGUE SEASONS IN A ROW: UAlbany has earned a winning record in America East play each of the past seven seasons starting in the 2010-11 year, including a combined 28-4 tally from 2015-16.  UAlbany has earned 10 winning seasons in America East play in the last 12 under Will Brown, including this year.

CAMPBELL COMETH: Since joining the starting lineup, Devonte Campbell has been a strong player on both ends of the floor.  He has picked up double-doubles in three of his last games and has had mutliple points in 11 contests and rebounds in each game as a starter, averaging 10.4 points and 6.1 rebounds in the last 12 games.

CHARLES IS BACK: Redshirt junior forward Travis Charles returned to UAlbany this season after missing most of last year with a heart condition, ending his year after nine games played.

He is the team's top scorer off the bench, shooting 60.9% from the field for 7.9 points and 3.7 rebounds per game, including 10 double digit scoring contests.

STREAKS: Mike Rowley has grabbed at least one rebound each of the past 96 games, including the entire 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons.  Greig Stire has earned at least one board in each of the past 66 games, including a single game record 15 rebounds at Hartford on January 22nd.

The first guard off the bench last season, Joe Cremo has scored points in each of his last 61 games going back to Nov. 19, 2015.  Cremo has also dished out at least one assist in each of the past 25 games.  David Nichols has also scored each game this year and is on a 32-game scoring streak.

UALBANY BASKETBALL WEEKLY ON SATURDAYS, 11:30 AM ON MY4: For the third year running, UAlbany Basketball Weekly, presented by Mohawk Honda, will air on MY4 on Saturdays at 11:30 a.m., starting on January 14th and running through the rest of the season.

Rodger Wyland, Chris Onorato and Ashley Miller of NewsChannel 13 will highlight the team, including interviews with coach Will Brown and selected players plus will have in-depth features and looks at practice.

SCOUTING HARTFORD: Hartford is second in the America East with 8.4 three-point field goals made per game.  Redshirt senior guard Jalen Ross is the leading scorer in the America East, picking up 20.2 points a game, including 157 free throws made.  Sophomore JR Lynch runs the point at 8.2 points and 2.8 assists a game while junior Hassan Attia is leading rebounder at 6.6 boards and 7.1 points a contest.
