Jacob Alsadek

Jacob Alsadek joined the Great Danes in ahead of the 2023 season as the team's Offensive Line Coach.
 
“We are very excited to have Jacob join our staff again,” said Gattuso “We met Jacob in 2019 when he was at UAlbany as an Offensive Analyst. Since then, he has picked up some great experience at both Oregon State and Toledo. Jake brings a ton of passion, energy, and knowledge to our coaching staff, and we are happy to have him back with our program.”

In his first season with the Great Danes, Alsadek commanded an offensive line that helped propel one of the most potent offenses in the FCS. With protection up front, quarterback Reese Poffenbarger finished as one of the top players in the nation, leading the country in passing yards and points responsible for. With time in the pocket for Poffenbarger, the team’s wideouts benefited as well – putting up career numbers in both yards and touchdowns. On the ground, the offensive line played a key role in rookie running back Griffin Woodell being named the conference’s Rookie of the Year. Five different offensive linemen garnered awards for their performances in the trenches, including freshman All-American honors for Nolan Latulippe and Sean Dugery.

Alsadek came to UAlbany after spending the 2022 season as an Offensive Graduate Assistant Coach at Oregon State. With the Beavers, Alsadek worked alongside the Offensive Line Coach, as well as working directly with the Offensive Coordinator and Head Coach. Oregon State finished the 2022 season as the No. 17 team in the country in the Associated Press Top 25 rankings, also finishing 11th in the nation for sacks allowed (12) and 27th for rushing offense (199.2 ypg). 
 
Before joining Oregon State, Alsadek spent two seasons as an Offensive Line Graduate Assistant at Toledo. In 2019, he was a member of the UAlbany football program as an Offensive Analyst. The 2019 season saw the Great Danes win nine games, including their first-ever FCS playoff game at home against Central Connecticut State. UAlbany went 9-5 overall, including 6-2 in the CAA to finish second after being picked 11th in the preseason coaches’ poll.
 
Alsadek was a four-time letterwinner on the offensive line at Arizona from 2014-17. He made the USA Today Freshman All-America Team in 2014. As a senior, he was a team captain, team offensive lineman of the year, and was named All-Pac12 by numerous media outlets. A native of San Diego, Alsadek graduated from Arizona in 2017 with a degree in urban and regional development.
