LEXINGTON, Ky. - The University at Albany women's volleyball team has earned Team Academic honors from the American Volleyball Coaches' Association (AVCA), announced last week.
Â
For 10 straight seasons, UAlbany volleyball has earned the Team Academic Award from the AVCA. The team won its first Team Academic award following the 2007 season.
Â
"It's a great accomplishment for our team to be recognized for their hard work in the classroom," said head coach
Josh Pickard. "Every day, each of our athletes strives to be the best both on and off the court. Maintaining this standard for 10 straight years speaks volumes about the culture of our program."
Â
Established during the 1992-93 academic year, the AVCA Team Academic Award honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long GPA of 3.30 or higher on a 4.0 scale, or a 4.10 or higher on a 5.0 scale. More than 1,400 collegiate and high school volleyball teams earned the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award.
