HOW IT HAPPENED

UAlbany opened strong with an Anna Myhal ace and built a 2-0 lead before UMBC responded with a run.

The Great Danes stayed within one at 9-8 after a Shynelle Woroniuk kill, but UMBC used a mid-set push to go ahead 16-12.

A late service run from Claudia Llamas extended the gap as UMBC took the frame 25-17.

UAlbany responded with early pressure and took a 5-3 lead behind kills from Woroniuk and Gabriella Karman.
