BOSTON - UAlbany softball's
Katie Parisi has been named the Rookie of the Week by the America East Conference, announced Monday.
A native of Colonie, New York, Parisi recorded six hits in 11 at bats for a .545 batting average through a three-game sweep at Maine (May 1-2). Slamming three extra-base hits, two doubles and one home run, she totaled two runs and eight RBI. With her first double of the weekend, she broke the UAlbany record for single-season doubles. Adding another, her 23rd on the season, she tied the America East record.
This is Parisi's fourth Rookie of the Week honor this season. It is the team's 10th weekly award this season: Player -

The Great Danes return to action at Maine (May 6) as they begin the America East Championship Tournament with a game against fourth-seeded UMass Lowell.
