Event: CAA Championship
Location: Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J.
Short Story: The UAlbany women's rowing team competed in its first-ever appearance at the CAA Women's Rowing Championship, in Pennsauken, New Jersey on the Cooper River Saturday morning.
The University at Albany placed sixth overall in the team standings with nine points in its first-ever appearance at the conference championship. Northeastern University won the team title with 42 points, securing its 12th consecutive CAA championship, while the University of Connecticut finished second with 36 points and Drexel University placed third with 28 points.
On the water, the Great Danes were led by their Varsity Eight, which placed fifth in the grand final with a time of 6:41.098. UAlbany's Second Varsity Eight finished sixth in 7:02.370, while the Varsity Four took seventh in 8:47.970 to round out the program's inaugural showing at the CAA Championship.
