Short Story: The UAlbany women's rowing team turned in a strong weekend at the Dad Vail Regatta on Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J., highlighted by the Varsity Eight advancing to the Bergman Trophy Grand Final and the Second Varsity Eight winning the Petit-Final. The Varsity Eight opened the regatta with the 10
th-best time during time trials (06:32.95) before placing third in its semifinal race at 06:40.57 to qualify for the Grand Final. Competing against a nationally competitive field, having narrowly edged out Georgetown by 0:00.10 as the Great Danes went on to finish sixth overall in the Bergman Trophy Grand Final with a time of 06:47.17.
The Second Varsity Eight also put together a strong showing, with the seventh-best time in their time trial before winning the Petit-Final in 07:12.84 over La Salle, Iona, and Merrimack. UAlbany's Second Varsity placed second in Petit-Final with a time of 08:52.60, while the Varsity Four earned a runner-up finish in Final 3 after crossing in 08:33.70. Overall.
