Event: Head of the Riverfront

Short Story: The UAlbany women's rowing team competed at the Head of the Riverfront on Sunday, racing on the Connecticut River in Hartford, Conn. The Great Danes competed alongside crews from Rhode Island, Holy Cross, Williams, UConn, Sacred Heart, Trinity, Bowdoin, Ithaca, Riverfront Recapture, Dominican University, New York AC, Amherst, New Haven, Assumption College, and Manhattan across five events.
 
UAlbany's A boat led the way in the Women's Open 8+, finishing sixth in a 27-boat field with a time of 15:13.952. The Great Danes' B boat followed in 11th at 15:25.362, while the C and D boats finished 22nd and 23rd, respectively, with times of 16:14.268 and 16:20.166.
 
The Great Danes also earned a second-place finish in the Women's Open Novice 8+, with UAlbany crossing in 16:55.590, just 1.729 seconds behind Trinity. UAlbany added a first-place finish in the Women's Open Novice 4+, winning in 18:12.795.
 
In the Women's Open 2x, UAlbany finished sixth in a 14-boat field in 18:25.655. UAlbany also entered three boats in the Women's Open 4+, with the A boat finishing sixth in a 31-boat field at 16:50.950, followed by the B boat in 10th at 17:02.861 and the C boat in 23rd at 18:11.914.
