SHORT STORY: The UAlbany women's track and field team came together to win their 17th consecutive outdoor America East title and extend Division I's longest active conference championship win streak, Saturday and Sunday.

KEY NOTES

• Shenequa Vassell led the medal count with two individual gold medals in the 100m and the 200m, plus a third gold medal from the 4x100m relay. Vassell's dominance earned her the Coaches' Award, given to the highest points scorer of the meet, and Most Outstanding Track Performer. 
• In her first time clearing the six-foot mark, Amelia Benjamin broke both the meet record and her own program record in the high jump (1.83m/6-0). She was named the Most Outstanding Field Performer for her efforts.
• Shortly after, Lalenii Grant broke the discus throw's meet record, previously held by the program's own Venique Brown. 
• In both the 100m and 200m dash, the Great Danes secured two medals. Shantae Pryce added silver in the 100m and Fega Eruotor added bronze in the 200m
• Brinesha Derrick-Bain also totaled three medals with gold in the 400m hurdles, silver in the 100m hurdles, and bronze in the 4x400m relay. Thalia Benoit made it two Great Danes on the 400mH podium with a runner-up finish and Victoria Daniel added a Great Dane on the 100mH podium with a third-place finish of her own.
• The hammer throw podium also held two UAlbany athletes with Keegan Collins winning gold and Nattaly Lindo adding bronze. 
• Freshman Arianna Verardi entered the program's top-10 in the 1500m run. Her time, 4:31.09, puts her at ninth all-time. 
• All three Great Dane relays medaled, both the 4x100m and the 4x800m earned gold while the 4x400m won bronze. 
• As a team, the Great Danes totaled eight event wins, including two relays, 17 medalists, and 31 scorers.
