Richmond, Va. – The University at Albany women's rowing Varsity 8+ has been named Boat of the Week as announced by the CAA on Wednesday afternoon.
This is the first Boat of the Week award for the entire conference in 2026 and the first for the Great Danes, who joined the conference in late summer of 2025.
The Great Danes captured gold in the Varsity 8+ event at the John Ferriss Regatta with a winning time of 7:21.347, finishing a commanding 14 seconds ahead of runner-up Ithaca. UAlbany outpaced a competitive field that included Ithaca, Tulane, Davidson, and High Point to secure the top spot on the podium.
